Most Dr.'s I've been to are at a loss for most things. They have to be "directed". Since Lexapro was tested at only 10 or 20mg, they are reluctant to go higher for liability issues.
If I tell them that I want to go to 40 or 60 they will let me, but not until I do so. Its all about what Forest Pharmaceutical feels is correct for their marketing strategy. Its why the 20 mg pills are only a few cents more than the 10mg pills, etc.
