hi! Have you tried Luvox? Or Anafranil? Or combos? (using add-ons like BuSpar, stimulants, atypicals, benzos, etc.) High-dose ADs are sometimes effective--really high dose effexor, 600mgs or so, can help some people with depression--but with a lot of psychiatric meds, it really is true that increasing the dose doesn't increase reponse that much *on the whole* (when you're looking at large-group data, you can easily miss cases where it makes a *big* difference). I'd say...talk to your doc, but first maybe try augmenting whatever treatment you're receiving now. Augmentation isn't all that well studied, either, but seems to offer benefits to a lot of people...with some disorders, such as severe OCD or bipolar, polypharmacy tends to be the rule, rather than the exception...docs who treat these disorders will be pretty experienced in putting together a workable cocktai.
