Welcome to Psycho-Babble!
I'm sorry you are going through so much stress right now. Have you seen a doctor yet? The natural hormones you are taking could be making things worse. Sometimes we think that because something is natural that it is good for us. I really think you should seek medical advice.
You can ask about medication to help you through those rough moments. But my guess is that if your doctor doesn't know about the natural stuff you are taking, he/she will want you off it first and see how you do.
Have you had your hormone levels tested? That is something else that needs to be done.
Hormones can do really weird things like bring on anxiety, rage, depression ... you name. I am sure you are going through your own personal hell right now.
If you do get prescribed something for the anxiety, it probably won't be Ativan. It will probably be Xanax or Klonopin.
I hope you find some relief soon and keep posting about how you are doing.
Also, I don't know where you live, but some places have community health support for people who are caregivers to ill family members. If you could tap into a resource like that it would relieve some of the stress.
Take care.
