I am not diagnosed as schizophrenic, but I take psychiatric medication and I am a better person for it. Being on medication does not make you a crazy person, and it might help you be better able to relate to others. I am honest with my doc and have had my meds tweaked until I found the right medications for me. I am glad that I did. It is your life, so it is your decision. You may notice that your perceptions change after taking some drugs, but unless you are super-sleepy, these drugs may be doing their job. You sound very open-minded about a lot of things - why not about medication and its effects? They can not permanently alter your brain chemistry, only while you take them. So I decided to try them and, like I said, am happy I did.
