Seroquel is not generally a mood stabilizer, but it is FDA approved to treat mania. I agree with the others that in the long term a more typical mood stabilizer may help you more (although there is a small population that uses Seroquel as a mood stabilizer) In the short term, for this episode, it could help because it does have sedating effects. If it is not working, you should definitely ask your pdoc if you can up the dose or add something new. Generally 800mg is the highest theraputic dose. Bottom line, regardless of a medicine's label, if it works - keep taking it, if it does not work - try something else.
