Seroquel is simply not a mood stabilizer. It is an antipsychotic that can help,especially with spcyhotic symptoms, but it is not a replacement for something like lithium.
I too am not sure what your pdoc is planning.
I can understand the barriers that make the hospitalization complex, but please keep tabs on yourself--have others give you feedback, to say if you seem ok or if it is getting worse.
You need to get help BEFORE not after it gets too much to handle on your own. My fear is with mania, you can lose your judgement to do what is best for yourself.
