> So, did you find it "fairly" easy to quit smoking this way? I would LOVE to quit smoking but am afraid of spiralling into depression if I did. My friends and family don't understand, why I just don't quit. I realize the habit part will be hard but it is the loss of the nicotine that I truly fear. My body is primed for addiction! Already quit the drugs and alcohol.

Well I did find it fairly easy the second time with the gum but I didn't do it the recommended way. I would chew the gum until I just had to have a smoke. I would take out the gum and wait a while for my nicotine level to come down, then just smoke one. I didn't even try to skip the first one in the morning, or after a meal at first, and these were the only ones I had a hard time quitting. Eventually I didn't have a craving to smoke, I had a craving to chew the gum.

If you try this make sure you allow enough time between chewing the gum and smoking, if you don't I think bad things could happen.

Good luck
Rick
