What is unique is that it's a stimulant which works strictly on DA-dopamine (no NA -noradrenaline). Even cocaine effects NA.
Pemoline (Cylert) is the only other medication I've found that is exclusive to dopamine but it increases DA and Amineptine merely slows DA cleanup (inhibits reuptake). As a result, Pemoline is long lasting causing insomnia and can cause serious (deadly) liver damage.
My understanding of the stimulants is:
DA (dopamine) is for pleasure
NA (noradrenaline) is for alertness
(probably a gross oversimplification)
