The substitites for amineptine depend on your symptomology/diagnosis. If you post or email me (andrewb@seanet.com) a detailed symtomology/diagnosis and your responses (good and bad) to the meds you have tried I will try and give you specific suggestion.

Amineptine typically would give prompt relief of depression for some, but that efffect would last only about three weeks. On a continuing basis however it would act as an arousal agent but this was often accompanied with increased anxiety.

Yes, there are are better substitutes to this.
