Mazindol is a CNS stimulant and amineptine is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor. Still looking for alternatives to amineptine.

It does possess stimulating properties for most people, but I wouldn't compare it to amphetamine. It is often used as the preferred biological probe for assaying the dopamine transporter. It is a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.
