I took 1mg/d of clonazepam for five years straight. I had to drop off of it for economic reasons for several months. Now, my new pdoc is very cautious about me using it in the same manner, so I've been using it "as needed" (that means for anxiety **other than** the anxiety I feel from moment to moment, 24/7). .5mg up to twice a day.

It still works.

Obviously there must be something to it, since there is so much literature out there about growing tolerant to clonazepam and/or developing a dependency on it. However, there are a number of other people like me here in Babbleland who've found they haven't developed either of these issues over a multi-year trial of it.
