Wellbutrin is not designated a psychostimulant, but it is an activating antidepressant. It's also used sometimes in the treatment of ADD as an alternative to the stimulants. It's also known by another name, Zyban, which is used to help with smoking cessation. It is *stimulating* but it is not a stimulant like Adderall and Ritalin. It's mode of action is different. It is stimulating, but a lot of ADs are that way b/c they're ADs. I think that Effexor is activating like Wellbutrin, as are others, for example.
