>Without offending anyone on this board, I think that the best person to give advice as to how you should proceed is not a poster, but a government-sponsored family lawyer (meaning very low cost or free depending on financial circumstance) or private attorney. This is a very sensitive topic involving the intricacies of law and mental health. I realize you may feel that psycho-babble is the only place you feel comfortable asking for advice, but this is not a board full of legal professionals skilled in the area of family law. You need to talk with someone who deals with these types of issues on a daily basis, so that you can determine how best to proceed.
I would suggest that you do not divulge to the attorney the exact nature of the psychological issues you are dealing with. Merely consult with one and get an idea of the law as it relates to psychiatric conditions and child custody in your state. Then once you are fully confident that your condition won't affect your future with your children, you can decide what to tell your p-doc.
Good luck, and I hope all turns out well.
Hi everyone, need major direction and major advice here. I have been in therapy for over a year. My therapist dx me FINALLY, when I knew something was 'wrong' w/me my whole blasted life!!
> with angoraphobia under lying depression.
> The think is I have never told the therapist, or the pdocs that have talked to me that I am parinoid but I always deny hearing voices.......I am so affraid of having that on my 'record' because I am a non custodial mom and if that is documented.......i have a bad feeling I will never ever NEVER get my kids back. even though I have joint.
