It has precious few side effects, has virtually no CNS side effects (e.g. depression), is covered by insurance; as an "ACE inhibitor" is being recommended to everyone over 55 as a cardioprotective medication whether they are hypertensive or not.

Before ever starting any AD my BP was 150/100. Using Altace my BP went down to 120/80.
At 225mg of Effexor my BP remained 120/80.
At 300mg of Effexor my BP has climbed to 130/90.
At 225mg I could just barely notice NE effects, 300mg is giving me some good NE effects, I can't believe how much easier it is just to get up & walk around.Cheers,
Panda.
