I find that after talking it I sometimes get an irritating feeling in my feet when seated and it goes away when I lay down & go to sleep. :) It also gives me a little ankle odema. Paradoxically, after about 2 months, Remeron has cured my hypersomnia & my strong desire for an afternoon nap has gone.

> Panda, I'm so glad to hear it's been a good med for you. I'm interested to hear you're using remeron with effexor -- and no sexual side effects, huh? That's amazing. I'm taking 30 mg at night, too. What about weight gain -- has it been a big problem? I think that's my only concern right now...I was worried about the "Sedative" effects, too, but as you say, I think I feel more energetic than I did before....I hope this new feeling lasts! I haven't noticed any edema yet, but fluid retention may explain the pain I had in my arm yesterday. And I haven't noticed any effects right after taking it, 'cause I take it in bed right before I go to sleep....So far, so good...

I'm not totally without sexual side effects. My libido is about 10% of what it use to be due to Efexor.
Efexor at 75mg = Difficulty in achieving orgasm.
Efexor at 150mg = Extreme difficulty & sometimes no orgasm.
Added 15mg of Remeron = Normal Orgasm.
Efexor 225mg + 30mg Remeron = Normal Orgasm.
If my wife asks for sex I can deliver, but I no longer ask for sex, I no longer have any drive to have sex because of Efexor. Remeron also has anti-nausea properties. At 150mg Efexor I had non-stop nausea all day & could barely brush my teeth without gaging. Weight gain: I haven't gained weight yet, but it didn't increase my apetite either, Crazychickuk who posts on this board is on Remeron & is managing to loose weight. I don't think much of Remeron's AD properties, but I think it's an excellent add-on to SSRI's especially if you have sleep problems.Cheers,
Panda.
