What's really happening, Bob, is that you are now habituated to Lexapro and reducing intake or (unadvisedly) cutting it off completely will result in highly unpleasant withdrawal symptoms: insomina, anxiety, "flu-like" symptoms of body pain and fatigue, etc.

I made the mistake of starting Lexapro for short-term depression and have had a much harder time dealing with the cure than the disease.

Remerol always kicked out my (relatively minor) depressions in the past, and it has helped me kick Lexapro after only five weeks on the stuff -- and two weeks of debilitating withdrawal. Good luck to you.
