Penny, I recall this issue being raised in the excellent book, "Listening to Prozac". I greatly understand your concerns. The way I have kind-of taken is, if we only live for say an average of 80 or so years, I'd rather live those years somewhat more content than if I was without medication. I also understand many other medications that people have to take, often for a lifetime, have their carcinogenic risks as well. Never mind the amount of air pollutants, contaminants in our water, and stuff in our food.

That's just my belief anyways.
