Paxil cold turkey can be rough. Doctors often have plenty of samples of drugs like Paxil, if it would be an option for your friend to see a dr. My pharmacy will usually give me a few days supply of a non-controlled med if the doctors office doesn't call back with a refill authorization. And ADs with longer half-lifes, like Prozac, are sometimes used to help withdraw from the shorter half-life ones like Paxil.
