OMG - I hate to put the fear of G-d in you but he has GOT to get his Paxil, and SOON. I was on it for many years until it pooped out and this was just before it became known that Paxil has one of the WORST reps of the SSRI's for bad, severe withdrawal. So, my pdoc at that time had given me a VERY rapid weaning schedule (heck, it was almost cold turkey) and I became sick as a dog, mostly with the most intense nausea I have ever experienced. I was sooooooooo nauseous yet could not get the *relief* from actually barfing. I would also break into cold sweats and could not sleep. I don't mean to scare you; sorry if I have; I don't know if there's anything you can do since you are so far away from your friend, but urge him to get to a VA hospital ASAP. Good luck.
