Lexapro Ear Pressure Side Effect?

Posted by pfflyers on May 21, 2003, at 20:34:24

I have been on 10mg Lexapro for a bit over a month, after a week start up on 5mg. For the last 10 days I've had a weird side effect: a feeling of pressure in my ears (like I want to "pop" them) and some sounds seem like they come through a tunnel. It began with one or two instances of a minute or so per day at first, but has gradually gotten to be more pervasive but of less intensity. My pdoc hasn't heard of such a side effect, and wanted to attribute it to anxiety, but I don't have "ringing in my ears" or "lightheadedness." I am using Lorazepam "as needed" which is .25 or .5mg once or twice a day/evening at present. Has anyone experienced this kind of feeling with Lexapro or any other SSRI? Also, what's the general consensus on loss of libido and orgasm for middleaged women? So far, mine has gone and hasn't returned (my reason for giving up on celexa 2 years ago, and effexor most recently. In between, serzone let me keep my sex life but wasn't adequate to the depression. Thanks for any posts.
