Kirsten,
About waking up at 6am - kind of a bad thing considering that this is the beginning of spring break and I should be able to sleep in. I've never smoked before.
When you said that you took 300mg, did you take it just once or for awhile? I remember reading that you've taken the Serequel since '99. Did the weight gain hit you right away, and then it stabilized or was it ongoing for quite awhile? My shrink says that the average weight gain is 5-10 lb - but I know that once I start gaining weight, I can't stop, and I'll gain a lot more than that.

> hi Lisa, I'm kinda glad to hear that you get that amonia smell after exercise. I think it's normal. Do you smoke cigs? I rest my case about the Seroquel. I have a problem with this drug-only because of the weight gain/appetite effect it seems to have on me and, as you said here, maybe on you. I hate that aspect of it.
> So you are eventually going to get up to 300mg??? wow I took 300mg at one time and I didn't notice weight gain that much-I'm wondering if it may depend on the dose?-example- the post "dose dependent". Seroquel has worked well for me, and I don't think I am going to play around with it. I take the 100mg at night, so I'll see........
> yeah, the good thing was that you were wide awake at 6am--or was it? lol

> That's great that you went out biking. Exercise always helps me feel a lot better long term, rather than doing something like overeating and regreting it later. I've had that amonia smell too - if I run for over an hour in hot weather. I can't remember why it occurs, but it's completely normal to have happen. I sometimes get that "runners high" (happens with other sports too) when I go for a run at a fast pace or run for several hours - I think it's because of something called endorphins.
> I increased the Serequel to 150mg on Friday and felt fine. I heard that it was good to take Serequel 12 hours before you want to wake up so on Sat I took it at 8pm (big mistake) and then went out to dinner with my friends - an hour later I was starting to feel drugged and they really noticed. And I ate a lot more than I normally would have - and I had dessert which is something I rarely do. I think I know what you mean about how hungry the Serequel can make you. I'm never taking it before I eat again. But the great thing is that I was wide awake at 6am the next morning - didn't feel like a zombie. But I still wonder if I can tolerate 300mg of it. I guess I'll have to find out.
