Hi Ross,
I'm glad to hear Nardil is working out for you! The reason I stopped Nardil was less about sex and more about insomnia. I hardly slept -- ever. I tried Ambien, Seroquel, Temazepam, Benedryl, Klonopin, and several combinations with these and other drugs to no avail. After 8 or 9 weeks I had plenty of other side-effects as well and made the decision to stop. If Nardil had been the miracle drug for me that it is for so many I may have stuck with it, but it's effect wasn't that different than any other drug for me.
The recent addition of Paxil CR has made a huge difference for me without the side-effects or dietary restrictions of Nardil. It's true that in the past I have made impulsive decisions about meds based on sexual dysfunction, but at the same time it's almost like if it has a negative effect on my sexual functioning it's going to work for social phobia. Anyhow, I don't really have a major problem with Paxil CR and consider the benefits to far exceed the drawbacks. I'm sure you feel the same way about Nardil. The combination of meds + CBT has been far superior to either alone for me. Well, glad to hear you've found a med that works and that you're tolerating it. For many of us, that's a rare thing! Good luck with everything!
Jon
