I'm currently on Paxil CR (25mg now) + Zoloft + Lamictal + Synthroid + Depakote. We're begining the process of slowly pulling away some of the meds, and starting with the Zoloft. I'm scared of rocking the boat because things are going well, but I guess I'll never know if I can do without the Z without trying. The sexual dysfunction from Paxil CR remains tolerable, but response to the "scenery" is certainly slower :) I would think decreasing zoloft could only improve things in this area. There's always Viagra, right? Actually, I'll probably give that a shot just to see if there's a big difference.
My pdoc is Dr. Michael R. Liebowitz in NYC from Columbia. I highly recommend him. You've probably heard me rave about him here before ...sorry to sound like a broken record everyone, but he's played a big part in moving me toward recovery... As to your question, if I remember correctly, he said 60mg is the minimum effective dose for SP and that in clinical trials for SP the response after 12 weeks was twice that of the response after 6 weeks. In other words, give it a chance and don't be afraid to increase the dose if you're not getting an adequate response. Nardil is the single most effective drug for SP. I hope everything works out for you.
