My diagnosis is panic disorder and agoraphobia. I do become depressed, but it's a response to how debiltating my disorder can be. It's not endogenous depression. I'm very agoraphobic. I function very well as long as I stay within my invisible boundaries or am accompanied by a support person, I do not experience anxiety or even panic very often as a result. Both the Nardil and Parnate did more in just 3 weeks of starting the regimen than all the counseling I had received over the course of the prior 10 years. It was truly miraculous and I maintained my gains for 4 additional years after stopping the Parnate. It helped to greatly reduce the frequency of the panic, the phobic response and eliminated obsessive ruminations. My life was still restricted to some degree but I was also highly functional. As a result of some recent stressful life changes I am now worse than I was many years before. I responded totally differently to a recent try at Parnate and could not take it. I am considering Marplan, but for now want to see the SJW, and CBT through for awhile.
Sorry for the "too much info." and I'm sure most of the posters have heard all this before as well.
Hope this was helpful.
