Hi.

Periactin (cyproheptadine) is a drug that possesses several pharmacological actions besides being an antihistamine.

The property of Periactin that can act to reverse sexual side-effects involves serotonin (5-HT). It blocks (antagonizes) 5-HT2 and 5-HT3 receptors. It has nothing to do with histamine.

Claritin (loratadine) does not block 5-HT receptors.
