<snippage of sorry-*ssed insurance garbage rules>
>She said that I should apply for social security deisability because I should definitely get that, but I'll likely have to appeal that decision as well. Is it wise to hire a lawyer when appealing these decisions? Like I have the money to do that...
I replied:
I have experience with the SSDI issues. You *CANNOT* hire an attorney for your SSDI claim, _Until_ You have been denied, then appealed, then had your Appeal Denied. I am not certain if this is a state mandate <I live in Washington State> or a Federal one. But the good news is, once you are able to get an attorney, they are limited on what they can charge. The judge in the case *Assigns* their fees and the amount they can take from your back payments *If* you win.A note here, the amount you will get *If* you win, will be the monthly alotment, less the first 6 months from the date you originally filed. And they usually only get about 25% of the total amount.
Hope this helps.
