Neurontin equals klonopin?

My pdoc started my on neurontin for generalized anxiety. I had use klonopin in the past, but developed depression after prolonged use. I am afraid neurontin will do the same.

Don't they both increase the GABA?

I just don't want to feel depressed again like on klonopin. Any advice would be appreciated.
