Yours is a very common problem unfortunately. I have had the same experience. Unless you need psychotherapy, I would recommend that you go to your regular family doctor to get your prescriptions. You didn't say what type of drug you are taking. If it is an antidepressant, 70% of antidepressants are prescribed by primary doctors such as pediatricians, OBGYN's family docs, and internists. The other 30% by psychiatrists.
My psychiatrist kept making me come in for refills eventhough I didn't think it was necessary. I then had my regular internist take over and all I have to do now is call the office and talk to the receptionist and I get the refills called in. I get 6 months of Celexa at a time and do not have to keep making appointments.
