Really nervous

I have my first psychiatrist appt on thursday of this week. I'm really nervous. I have a good GP who gives me medication and lets me talk about stuff but now he wants me to see a shrink about my agoraphobia and OCD.
Being an agoraphobic, I'm really scared to do this. What is it going to be like? Am I going to have tell him about my childhood or some kind of Frudian stuff? What do psychiatrists do? I don't see how he can help me more than my GP.
