Hi Gene:
Buspar might help but ...
If SSRI's Celexa, Zoloft, and Paxil don't work...
have you tried Effexor? I have Social Anxiety
which doesn't seem to respond as well to Effexor
but there have been increasing reports of people
with GAD doing VERY WELL with Effexor!! I was
very suprised as I've been hearing this because
for many people Effexor seems to increase anxiety,
but apparently for those with GAD, it has the
oppositite effect!!!I definitely recommend trying both Effexor,
and Paxil too if you haven't tried it.After that, of course benzodiazepines, (Klonopin,
Xanax) are extremely effective, and in long term
use seem ok if the dose can be kept fairly low to
prevent cognitive difficulty. Also Nardil and Parnate can be very effective.
Especially Parnate is worth a try for GAD, while
Nardil is preferable for my condition (SP).Good luck!!

http://www.socialfear.com/> I am about to go on a combination of Buspar and Celexa. I am interested in hearing on very positive effects of Buspar on anxiety. I could use all the encouragement I can get. Thank you
