People's reaction to Buspar seems to vary a great deal. I have used it effectively for many years, primarily in combination with Serzone. It added an activating and energizing effect for me that the Serzone lacked. It doesn't feel like an anxiolytic in the same way that the benzodiazepines (Valium, Ativan etc.) do, but I was able to cope with stress much better without being unreasonably angry by the end of the day.
10-20 mg per day is about right for me - your mileage may vary.
One caution: I drive much more aggressively when I take Buspar, but my attention is slightly impaired!
