My mind is not working too well right now. I probably meant 'multi-racial'. It's 'multiculturalism' that's at the heart of the most of the problems where I'm situated. The well-meaning liberals you speak of positively encourage large swathes of legal immigrants *not* to integrate. An example: a few (mostly left-wing/Socialist) politicians in the UK recently suggested that it would be in the best interests of everyone if newcomers were encouraged to learn the language. This was denounced as "linguistic emperialism." You can't win.
I'm personally in favour of everyone just getting on with it.J.
