Since this is my first post here I guess I'll give a little history of my AD use. I started taking ADs in 92 (prozac 20mg) and then around 95 started on Zoloft and have been on it since. As of last Monday I've been taking Wellbutrin SR 150mg once a day and taking my usual 50mg dose of Zoloft every other day to begin to wean myself off of it. I basically never researched ADs until recently and came to the conclusion that my apathy and "numbness" might actually be the Zoloft and not laziness. As for withdrawal, from what I've read it would be better to slowly decrease the dosage and take the drug every day instead of "yo-yo"ing. (A few times I've either run out of my meds or stopped taking them so I'm well aware of the dibilitating effects of going "cold turkey" with Zoloft.) Unfortunately my prescription is 100mg tabs that I half and so far my attempts at cutting the pill into quarters has been pretty unsuccessfull and inconsistent. Recommendations? Also, I read somewhere here that in Canada the recommened dose for Wellbutrin is 150mg SR a day. Is this true and if so why the disparity? Finally, in case the Wellbutrin does not work for me what is the popular consensus on the withdrawal effects of this medication?
Thank you for your time and thoughts.
