Zo,
I brought this up at http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20010708/msgs/69535.html I always feel good emotionally (albeit physically wretched) after starting ADs...I love it. They "cure" my depression after the first dose, yet poop out after about ten days. If that's mania (or hypomania) I want it. I thought that is just how "normal" people feel all the time. I thought that was how it feels to be rid of the depresion. How do you know the difference between mania and just normalcy? Sometimes I get rage attacks when starting ADs. I could live without those!!
