Have you had your thyroid levels thoroughly checked out?
I had lots of problems, turned out mostly to be thyroid related. Felt much better after I got that controlled.
Get a second opinion. I've been the ER twice due to such heavy bleeding, but now it's much better with my thyroid under control. And, I'm hormone free for now!
If the bleeding comes back I am going to ask for surgery, citing I have too many other health problems and I can't tolerate the excess bleeding and I can't tolerate the hormones.
Get a second opinion, and be aggressive about this. Doctors will just let us go unless we get loud.
Good luck--
> Take Effexor XR 150 mg. in the morning and Klonopin 0.5 mg. (down from 1 mg.) at bedtime. Depression is successfully managed. My problem is I am moderately anemic (hgb. 9.6, hct. 29) due to excessive blood loss during menstruation (age 41). I have been placed on iron 3 x a day and prescribed birth control pills. In the past I have tried every b/c formulation and I always get the same result, a strange sensation that I can only characterize as "nervousness". To the point where I just want out of my body. Yesterday, I had to resort to taking 0.25 mg. of Xanax, and felt much better. (I never have to take Xanax otherwise). But, I woke up with an anxiety attack that I got under control within 5 or 10 minutes and fell back to sleep.
> Is this "nervousness" something that may resolve over time? I wonder if the anxiety attack was caused by the Xanax as well? I had to stop using Xanax in the past because I experienced "rebound". Any ideas or suggestions?
