Hi Karen,
Sorry it took me so long to respond. I did mention your theory to my therapist, who was adamant that I was not bipolar -- he said I would know by now if I had had a manic episode, since they start at age 19 (I'm 36).But it's interesting how you describe bipolar -- almost as if there can be a more mild "mania..." I have had episodes of irritability, restlessness, anxiety -- usually accompanying the depression, and usually when I'm NOT on antidepressants.
Do you think your doctor could refer me to someone in my area? I live very close to the University of Michigan Medical Center; perhaps he/she would know of someone there...
Either way, I thank you for your concern and information!
