I am at the complete end of my rope.
About 2 years ago I started seeking help for depression and anxiety. I've been through three different therapists -- one psychologist I got rid of because she said nothing; one great doctor who graduated from his residency and moved to Canada; and now I am being treated with by another Resident. For a while I was on Celexa, then Celexa and Welbutrin, then Effexor, and then Effexor and Wellbutrin.
I was taken off all the meds. to see what would happen. Nothing changed -- no worse, no better. Recently, I underwent psych testing, and came out with nothing but a personality disorder (so pretty much normal.
I have been complaining of extreme exhaustion. I can sleep all the time. The doc's (primary care and pdoc) jumped up and down and said, hypothyroidism -- I have poked and prodded in thirty different directions and my results are not atypical [Noa please don't refer me to any more hypo-thyroid material -- it is not the problem from what I can see]
So, then the next thing that came about was oh, you must have sleep apnea. So I tried to get testing from July 2000 to January 2001. I finally got tested on the 29th and 30th. I met with the specialist today who told me that my results were no indicative of anything.
I called the psych. clinic's director out of deperation. He is supervising my pdoc who I haven't seen since Jan 9th -- either vacation, or called to cancel numerous times. He seems to agree with me that there is a problem -- and that we need to find a way to fix it.
In October I was put on ritalin to keep me awake. But I had to take high doses, and it caused my blood pressure to increase. SO, I was taken off the medication. As a result, while I was being treated I did well on my midterms -- and without the medication, I failed my finals.
Now, I am trying to get permission to take tests over on medical grounds -- however, I have no diagnosis as of yet. All the other docs pointed to the sleep test, and the specialist is saying there is nothing there indicating a problem.
As you can see I have many problems.
SOMEONE help me.The clinic director is looking over my chart and getting back to me tomorrow -- However, I would like to hear from others re: what they think.
