I was prescribed Mirtazapine (Zispin/Remeron) for eight weeks. I did not notice any sedating effects. They are, however, a result of the anti histamine properties the medicine contains. I was most surprised that I did not feel this effect because most people appear to.
The weight gain is directly related to the increased appetite that occurs in those who use the medicine.
I hope I have satisfied some of the questions raised.
