Ed:
I took Nardil for 5 years and it worked wonderfully for me until about the last 6 months...and then I really hit the pits...I think we call that 'poop-out' here. That was almost 2 years ago and depite trying almost every other type of med, alone and in combinations, I have yet to feel as good or 'normal' as I did on the Nardil.
There are those here who say that once you take a break from it, you can go back and try it again, most of the time achieving the desired effect. I don't know that from personal experience because my pdoc does not want to put me back on it: I would have to have a minimum two-week wash out of the Remeron that I am currently taking and she's afraid I would really hit the pits again...and she's also concerned about Nardil's side-effects...(and I didn't ask her specifics about that)...but Nardil is the closest I have come to feeling like myself...and I think I vaguely remember what THAT is...
Don't know if this helps you, but that's been my experience at least. This is supposed to be one of the topics at my next appointment. Let me know how you do.
Sincerely,
Jane
