Nikki,
You are quickly making your way to Honorary Texan status. The heat stroke, dehydration, misery, and learning your invaluable fan lesson. I've been thru all of those, and the fan lessons (there have been several) are the worst.
One hint, if you spritz yourself with water while the fan blows on you, it's much cooler. Of course this may require a degree in engineering so that you can preserve the contents of your house, plus have the fan blow on you, while drinking water+electrolytes with the television blaring loud enough to get complaints from the neighbors.
