Not to promote more meds if you have had it with them, but elsewhere on this site I read about Revia (naltrexone) being used for people who dissociate with good results. I have several people on it and it keeps them "together" nearly all the time now.
You said a new doctor has diagnosed you with Bipolar disorder recently. Do you think you are manic-depressive? What you said about "meeting criteria" for a diagnosis made me think of this. Bipolar disorder is the new "fad" diagnosis and it seems that many people are being "made" to fit this diagnosis the same way they were "made" to fit the MPD (DID) diagnosis. I would find it somewhat implausible that you could be bipolar with its intermittent and cyclical mood changes when what you described earlier seems to be a daily unchanging experience present since age 4.
