Tegretol will make the pill less effective (by inducing its metabolism), but that may just mean you'd need a higher dose of estrogen to achieve the same effect.

One thing I seem to recall having heard of is taking a very large dose of an SSRI at a certain point in the month. Might be worth asking your doctor about.

Also, there are psychopharmacologists who specialize in the treatment of women and who probably have quite a lot of experience in this area; it might be worthwhile to talk to your pdoc about a consultation with such a specialist.
