YOGA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by sid on May 16, 2002, at 18:48:19

New yoga course started today - WOW. I missed it! Could not get enough, it's like my body had been cut from something essential. I did not do it at home for the past month or so, but I will start again, every morning! I feel good!!!!!!!!!

Our bodies need something besides normal everyday movement, even if we are normally active. I must have some Egyptian in me (but in actuality, only Northern European blood) 'cause as soon as music comes on (MY music), I want to sway, swivel, & dance. I don't move fast or jerky but fluidly (or so I imagine I look though probably not). And it feels just SO GOOD to let myself move in such a relaxed happy way.

Hurrah for you - I hope you continue feeling great!

(Seriously, my nickname as a child and teenager was BooBoo.)

Sid! Crazy! I just picked up a ton of yoga brochures tonight when I went to the food co-op... I need yoga again, I used to do Kripalu. You're right. It's so great, the mind-body component, the breathing, the lighter-than-air feeling when you walk out of the studio... Go for it, Sid.

Hey Wendy (aka Boo Boo) -
I do viniyoga, although my teacher also learned some krupalu, if I remember well.
Tanight was nice - it was more energetic than what I did in the other class. It's spring time and we all said, in this course, we wanted to move more, stretch more, use our body more. The mind thing is great, but let's be more physical and break a sweat too. It was great.

One of my pamphlets was for viniyoga, first time I'd heard of it. Sounds really really nice, enjoy it!

I bow to the god/goddess in you,

Boo Boo

Hi,
I find myself suggesting yoga to so many clients (I do massage therapy). It is the single most amaaaaaaaazing form of exercise. It will give you strong back muscles and stretch them, helping with how your body physically processes and hangs on to stress. And of course there is the mental side to it, which not only helps with stress, but with your ability to process your thoughts and emotions.
Whenever a client starts doing yoga, I honestly notice a huge difference within a few weeks.
Yay! Have fun!!! I go in and out of my at-home yoga practice and this has inspired me to go back to doing it every day.
