I want to live a long healthy life. What supplements should I take?
I'm starting to eat healthier too. I'm trying to eat nuts like almonds, broccoli, blueberries, apples, wheat germ, etc.
Right now I'm taking:
- 2 capsules of 850mg fish oils, with 250mg DHA and 300mg EPA in each capsule
- 1 tablet 400 IU vitamin D
- 1 or 2 500mg chewable vitamin CI'm going to add:
- 1 500mg elemental calcium
Is that pretty good?

Hey Deneb,
This is by no means a comprehensive answer, but I have a couple of suggestions.
First, I would up your vitamin D intake to maybe 2,000-3,000 IU. All kinds of studies have come out lately supporting the benefits of taking that much, if not more. If I remember right, it doesn't begin to get toxic at amounts under 10,000 IU.
I'd also consider adding CoQ10 if you can afford it. It's not cheap, but I think it's worth the price for its very strong antioxidant properties.
I'm sure others here will have some good suggestions for you.

My endo put me on 1000mg of Vita D as said it really helped the bones. Also webmd has some other studies on it. Love Phillipa

I don't know anything about co-enzyme Q10. I'll need to do some research on it. Thanks for the suggestions. Now I have some leads!
