Yeah Dinah! I'm having a VERY down day. I feel like I could eat the world. I'm about ready to give up.

Well Dinah,
It looks like I DID eat the world. I gained two more pounds! I am taking an artritis med that could add a bit of water weight though. Maybe that's it. ;-)

The start of my period means that in addition to my water weight gain, I also had my usual sugar cravings.
But I was also mildly sick all week. So I alternated wildly between eating everything in sight, and eating nothing at all.
I'm sorry to hear about the arthritis. Is it flaring up?

Yes Dinah, I've been really hurting a lot. I tried to take Mobic but the dose high enough to help the pain was hurting my stomach even with 40mg of Prilosec! And that much Prilosec makes me lethargic and even more depressed.
So for two weeks I am back on the last of my Bextra so I can try to go visit the grandbabies. Then I will have to shift to Celebrex and see if it works. I am in pain daily which doesn't help the depression.
I'm trying to decide whether or not to go to a pdoc. I haven't been to one in 3 years. The last one did no good at all. It is so hard to try to pick one from a list.
I can't blame a "period" any more as I'm almost menopausal. But I think every now and then my tired old body tries to put out one last spurt of hormones. ;-)

I'm trying not to be too optimistic. I can feel I'm at a low point in my water weight cycle.
But I've also been starving myself for two days. I'm not going to take the drugs I was prescribed, so I'm going to not eat more than I absolutely have to until I've lost enough weight to not need them.

WOW Dinah!
You go girl! I'm down a bit today in spite of a weekend trip. I'm 1.5 pounds more than my lowest of several weeks ago. I too need to get serious and start writing down everything I eat and start counting calories. Do you know of a good online program other than Fit Day?
I had a computer mouse melt down last week and may need to get a whole new computer soon. :-(

Eeek. Your mouse affected your whole computer?
I'm not doing this in a very healthy way. I just basically stopped eating except for a lean cuisine for dinner, and a few bites for lunch and breakfast or whenever I get too hungry to bear it. Obviously it isn't a long term solution.
But I also knew I wasn't going to take my Zocor as prescribed. Or the additional Glucophage. She says if I lose fifteen pounds I won't need to.
But I swear, living like this doesn't do much to make me want to prolong my life. :(
Vacations are notorious for weight gain. Don't let it get you down.

Hooray! My breath has been toxic for a couple of days. That means high ketones in the blood! I've reached ketosis! My body is burning off that fat.
On the other hand, I'm scaring everyone around me with my bad temper more than my bad breath. :(

Dinah,
Oh, the scale was friendly today! I'm sure it is just a fluke, but it looked soooo good! I broke an important zero! LOL
Reminder to self: it is okay if the scale goes back up as long as there is a downward TREND. We can do it. We can do it. We can do it!

Dinah,
Hope you are well. I haven't had time to read recently or post, but I'm still losing weight. 43 total so far! I'll try to read a bit in the next few days. I feel like I've been gone forever!

Dinah,
In spite of very difficult and stressful circumstances I am still losing a bit. I usually turn to food when I am stressed out.
Hope you are at least "okay." I know you are on new meds and under a lot of stress. Please know I really care about how you are doing.

I'm so pleased for you. :)
I've been afraid to weigh myself. I dropped the Risperdal by a third and am still eating too much, but I'm no longer devouring everything in sight.
But I am reluctant to see what that big month long binge did to me.

I'm 5 feet tall and last week I hit my highest weight ever...121. It's right on the cusp of being overweight. That's when I decided once and for all to do something about it.
I signed up at http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/Index.html and am using their little online diet and fitness manager to keep track of calories. I find it very helpful. I've lost 4 pounds since I started on Nov. 7th. My goal weight is 100 pounds.
Try keeping track of the foods you eat...post them, it might help.
For me, counting calories is the way to go.

Now I'm close to 200.
I think I might have self indulgent personality disorder. Or maybe I just have a lot of deadly sins.
It's my day for disliking me.

It is okay Dinah! I'm right here for you and SO glad on posted on this. I now feel that I can admit to being 225 pounds. But, that is down from 285.
I am EVER so slowly losing weight. Maybe a half a pound a week. And I am here for you.
Hugs,

Admit to it? You should be bragging everywhere you can!!! What a terrific accomplishment! And to continue losing steadily... Well, I know how hard that is.
Many many pats on the back.

Dinah how are you doing? I am down to 222.5 and I am thrilled. But I am exhausted and hurting. Are you at least holding your own? Even that is victory!
I gave up drinking my favorite soda once a day. So very hard to do.....

I'm so proud of you! That's wonderful.
I seem to be holding steady at 198. Not sure what's up. My new dose of glucophage has me constantly nauseated so I'm not eating much. I am having one sugary drink a day because it seems to settle my stomach, but still...
Sigh.

Dinah,
I SOOOOOOOOO understand. Trying to give up my one sugar soda a day (a real comfort to me) is HARD and a daily battle. Holding steady can be good! I did that for months. I was 230 ish forever!
I'm looking at a lot of stress in the next two months. Just hoping I make it okay.....

Fabulous!! I didn't even dare. I think I'm retaining fluid. Or so my sock lines tell me.
I think your progress is so wonderful.

I found a really great tool for losing weight. It's called FitDay.
It's free. It keeps track of your calories. I'm using it right now.
I find that counting exactly how many calories I'm eating really helps me.

Dinah,
Stayed the same this week and this is fine with me with Easter and all. I so know that bloated feeling. My rings so from tight to almost falling off. I think Celebrex makes you retain fluid........ The heat and humidity doesn't help either!
Hang in there! I'm pulling for you!
