It looks like I have a real candida problem. I have thrush right now and have continual yeast infections.
Apparently, other than this Nystatin and probiotics, it looks like i'm going to have to go HARD core on my diet.
It would almost be impossible for me to imagine of a diet without sugar or yeast ( I sit here right now drinking a dr. pepper!).
Has anyone tried it successfully?
I just ordered the South Beach Diet book and figure that will give me a decent start- I also ordered the cookbook.
I've gotta get rid of this yeast problem.

I personally found that the South Beach Diet aggravated my depression and mood swings. I do seem to be in the minority - most everyone else has done great on it. I do take a supplement called Candex (available from health food stores) that supposedly breaks down the cell walls of Candida Albicans - it sounds like mumbo jumbo but I swear it works!!
And cutting out as many sugars as you possibly can will help starve your body of the thrush,as it loves to feed on it! I was never much of a soda pop swigger but my old alcohol habit took the place nicely. When I stopped drinking the problem with thrush diminished dramatically.

Thanks a lot ClearSkies (formerly known as partlycloudy, ROFL),
I think the least amount of sugar in my diet, the better off I'll be. I have no doubt i have candida issues; I have a chronic yeast infection and now with this thrush, it was just more evidence that it's there.
Since I've been on Nystatin, I have noticed some really heavy depression- I think it's attributed to the yeast "die off" from everything I read, it sounds like as the yeast dies off, it releases toxins and your liver starts working overtime which can produce depression.
I just feel like i"m in a serious mental fog. Of course, I have some serious stressors right now as well so who knows which is which.
Thanks for the info. I might go slow on the south beach diet and just slowly incorporate it overtime.
This is the end of the thread.
