You must realize that I was raised in the South on grease/lard/Koolaide and sweet tea.
So being told to avoid such things is like asking me to stop breathing.
I have no real idea what are the ideal foods/snacks for someone with hypoglycemia.
I am going to take a nutrition course in May but until then, anyone have some good suggestions?

No white flour, pasta. The closer something is to being unprocessed, the better. It ends up being a high-protein diet, kind of by default. Fats are okay, so long as they are with proteins. Raw vegetables are okay. Kind of like a Zone diet or South Beach diet. Except you eat small amounts all through the day.

I went to google.com and typed in "hypoglycemia diet" and got the following link, which looks really good.

Hi Spriggy,
I picked up a few flyers at the natural foods store today. One of them contained a list of typical low glycemic foods and typical high glycemic foods. Here they are:
Low Glycemic Foods release sugar into the bloodstream gradually:
Legumes (lentils, chick peas, kidney beans, white bean)
Whole-grain Rye bread
Whole-grain high fiber cereals
Whole-grain pasta
Oranges
Bulgur
Organic milk and yogurt
Brown rice
********************************************
High Glycemic foods release large amounts of sugar into the blood stream very quickly and produce sharp rises in blood sugar levels:Soft drinks
White rice
White bread
French fried potatoes
Jams
High-sugar cereals
Corn
Orange juice
Corn chips
