I know this is something that likely needs to be addressed by the ER right now but I honestly don't want to pay another $75 to have them run test and send me home to wait on my tests.
I have a call in to a dr. at my church but until then, maybe somebody can help me.
I sit here, reading email. I am NOT having a panic attack (trust me, I know the difference) but it suddenly becomes labored to breathe. Imagine running up 10 flights of stairs, that's me right now but for no reason.
My pulse is 106 as I sit here- I don't think that's dangerously high.
My blood sugar isn't that bad- 155.
I can't figure out this labored breathing thing. It's NOT asthma or wheezing.. It's as if I ran a marathon only I am just sitting!!

Is this the same time of day that it happened yesterday? Is your husband home? Look for similarities. Are you stressing over all the decisions you have to make? Fondly, Phillipa

What happens if you hold your breath for a few seconds -- then breathe -- then hold you breath for a few seconds....?

Okay, update:
First of all, YES, I realized it does seem to happen the same time of day.
I can say for certain this was not an anxiety attack, I had no anxious feelings at all. I was just sitting here calmly when it happened.
My husband came home from work, the LPN came over and took my blood pressure it was 150/108. My pulse was 118 when the LPN came.
He (LPN) stayed here until I felt better and my pulse was down but he was ready to drive me to the ER.
He thinks it is my thyroid "acting out" during this time of day. Nonetheless, I feel better now, I didn't waste $75 AND I have my dr. appointment tomorrow.

Get thee to a doctor. Do you have an appointment? You're symptoms sound like Graves' or hyperthyroidism, but also sometimes like Hashimoto's or hypothyroidism! You may find this article interesting. (I did when I was chasing down my illness last year.)http://thyroid.about.com/cs/hypothyroidism/a/hypoandhyper.htm
You might also want to check out this checklist:
http://www.thyroid-info.com/autochecklist.htm
But most important, get to a doctor (with the lump on your neck, preferably an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid disorders) ASAP!
I don't want to unnecessarily alarm you -- nor discourage your posts, as we care about you -- but you've reached the limits on how much this board can help you. Don't panic, but insist that you get in to see a doctor. If you have to keep going back to the ER to get someone to take you seriously, do so. Do especially go to the ER if you get a very irregular heartbeat and a very high fever (like 104 or higher).

Do especially go to the ER if you get a very irregular heartbeat and a very high fever (like 104 or higher).I think the fever is a critical issue, but I would put the threshold for seeking emergency care much lower, at 100 (absent infection), if it matches the heart disturbance in time (i.e. both are flaring simultaneously).

Well, so far, I have never had any fever during those intense heart rates..
So I wonder if it's just the thyroid or if it's the blood sugar.
I see the doctor today to go over the heart monitor results and blood tests, etc.
I'll know more then.
Thanks everyone.
