Anyone have any suggestions for low calorie snacks that are satisfying? I already eat carrot sticks, so I'm looking to widen my horizons -- but not my hips ;-D

I love wasabi peas, which are dried peas covered in a spicy/ sweet covering and can be found in health food stores or asian markets. For some reason they satisfy my appetite while being a measly low calorie treat.

Racer carrots have a huge amount of fast acting carb in them a natural sugar but my endo said avoid them....good snacks...turkey, chicken, almonds just a few..walnuts, half serving if shedded wheat/BRAN , an apple with a tad of peanut butter on it..makes the carb burn slower, low carb ice cream bars by Klondike..3 grams of carb and 100 calories..is fatty...but yummy ...a special treat...I may have more ideas later,.,you also may want to exercise whenever you want to snack it sounds silly but :) works you either eat less or get fit :P

I'm a big fan of Jello squares. They're a great treat instead of heading for the candy, cookies, etc.
Here's the recipe:
3 small boxes of sugar-free Jello
1 box (4 packets) Knox gelatin
3 cups boiling water
3 cups cold waterVery, very low carbs (if any)

I like whole water chestnuts--they come in a can and are ready to eat. Crunchy, kind of nutty, slightly sweet taste.
I also like fruit--navel oranges are an easy, portable and yummy snack. Bananas, although finding bananas at the right level of ripeness is a challenge.

What an interesting idea. I asked my husband to bring home some waterchestnuts, so I'll try that out.
Bananas, though -- not in MY house! (Even the smell makes me sick. Dunno why... When you come visit, you can eat the Unclean Fruit on the balcony...)
Thanks. I've also discovered Clausen's pickles. The Bread And Butter are delicious, and the Dill have only about 3 calories per slice. They're crunchy, too, which is always satisfying.
(Along with the waterchestnuts, though, AlsoRan brought home Ruffles BBQ Potato Chips, too. NOT low cal, NOT healthy, but -- his excuse -- 'the cat likes them, and he's sick, so we should give him his favorite things...' Yeah, uh-huh, right, I believe that's the only reason you brought them home, honey...)

Oh yeah, Pickles--I forgot to mention those. These make a great 0 calorie snack. But you gotta watch the sodium on the pickles....
