I'm looking for some very funny quasi hallucingenic dialogue about nothing at all. What is there? Beckett, I guess. But who else? I used to like 'Howard the Duck' comix, but they don't seem to do it for me. I had a Granta with a really funny bit of dialogue involving some trippy people in Amsterdam who couldn't find their hotel (but I can't find it). Who is good with that kinda stuff. I need a laugh. Existentialism for the cognitively impaired...anything like that.

Your description made me think of r.a. lafferty, specifically "The Devil is Dead" I don't know how available it is these days, but I loved it back when I first read it, and hunted down another copy after I loaned out the first. I haven't read Becket or granta, but I read Howard the Duck earlier today. I'm reading all my old comics in the order they came out. They were at my parent's house for 15 years. Unemployment is wonderful. Mark Leyner is the most meaningless author ever, but I like him. Try "My Cousin, My Gastroenterologist"

It may not be quite as meaningless as you're looking for -- I"m not familiar with Howard the Duck -- but it is very funny stuff. And Christopher Moore is laugh-out-loud-while-alone-in-the-room funny at times.
How about "The Eyre Affair" or "The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove"? The first is Fforde, the second Moore.
If you're willing to settle for bad puns, Piers Anthony might suit. "Crewel Lye" is the first in his series.
Light and frothy usually works for me, but I'm not feeling either of those today, so can't remember anything more to suggest.

No, Racer, I haven't read Jasper Fforde (wonderful name). The Lust Lizard of Melanchloly Cove....well, I noted the title from the thread above, sounds great.

Try "Foop!" by Chris Genoa. Pretty trippy, funny stuff.
